Work on the County Road 2/Broadway Avenue project in Forest Lake will be suspended for one week over the Fourth of July holiday, and work will start up right after for the home stretch.
Prior to the holiday, all the curb and gutter work will be completed, excavations will be backfilled or graded, the side street will be paved, and the south boulevard trail will be graded and sloped to match existing grades. The trail will remain gravel during the suspension.
During the Fourth of July holiday, all construction activities will be suspended for one week starting Friday morning, June 29. All temporary traffic controls will be removed except for stop signs at Eighth and Fourth.
Traffic will be allowed full access to the new roadway during suspension, and all side streets will be open to Broadway.
After the Fourth of July suspension, construction will resume, with the temporary traffic control being reinstalled on or after July 5. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction to allow for completion of remaining construction activities.
One lane in each direction will be maintained until the completion of construction.
