Historical group seeks members

With the 2012 summer museum season now at the half-way mark, the Forest Lake Area Historical Society announced this week it is altering its summer hours and issuing a public appeal for members.

Since opening in July, the museum at 67 S. Lake St. has been open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Hours on Tuesday are now noon to 7 p.m. to tie in with the evening Arts in the Park at Lakeside Memorial Park. Hours on Thursday and Friday remain noon to 5. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Sunday hours 10 to 3. There is no admission fee.

Historical society memberships are now available. A lifetime membership is $325. The annual individual membership is $15 while a family membership is $25 a year. An annual business membership is $100. Application forms are available at the museum or can be found at www.forestlakehistory.org. Dues and donations may also be mailed to FLAHS, P.O.
