U.S. Highway 61 will be closed for over a month in the vicinity of 250th Street in Wyoming for an improvement project being administered jointly by the city of Wyoming and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The closure takes effect Monday, Aug. 20 and the highway will re-open by Sept. 21. The project is estimated to wrap up by Oct. 5.
Improvements include the addition of left turn lanes, a bypass lane for southbound traffic on the highway at 267th Street, and closure of the Fenwick access at Highway 61. The city has received funding from MNDOT for the majority of the improvements. Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. will carry out the work.
