The first annual Alissa M. Haines Stomp Out Suicide 5K Run/Walk for Awareness will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at Goodview Park in Wyoming. Haines was a 15-year-old Wyoming resident who died by suicide Dec. 29, 2011.

Participants can win prizes in a raffle, with tickets ranging from $2 to $10.
Suicide awareness and mental health resources will be available. Proceeds will benefit Suicide Awareness Voices of Education, a national nonprofit agency based in Bloomington.
Runners check in at 9 a.m.; the 5K begins at 10.
