ECFE hosts open houses for preschool programs

Andy Fino and his father John Fino make a volcano erupt at an ECFE parent-child class.

Early Childhood Family Education in the Forest Lake Schools will start the school year by holding open houses at five locations. On Aug. 29 the ECFE preschools at Columbus, Lino Lakes, Linwood and Wyoming will be open at the same time as the elementary schools, from 5 to 6 p.m. Parents bringing their elementary children to meet the teacher, pay for hot lunch, and load school supplies into desks can also bring their preschoolers to get familiar with the surroundings.

On Aug. 30, parents who registered their preschoolers at the Family Center, located in the Central Learning Center, can attend parent orientation from 6 to 7 p.m.

ECFE will have an open house at the Central Learning Center for everyone interested in exploring the classrooms and meeting teachers on Thursday, Sept. 6. Parents with last names beginning with the letters A through M should come between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., and parents whose last names begin with N through Z between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

ECFE offers parent/child classes for children from birth to age 5. Register online at under the Early Childhood link.
