Nothing much went right for the Forest Lake football team and new head coach Billy Kirch in Thursday’s season opener at Park. The Wolfpack snapped a 20-game losing streak in dominant fashion, routing the Rangers 47-12.
Park marched 78 yards on its second drive to go up 7-0. The hosts added touchdowns on their next three drives to make it 27-0 with 1:15 left before halftime.
The Rangers answered with a 40-yard touchdown on a hook-and-ladder play but would never close the gap within 21. Park scored on its first two drives of the second half and ballooned the lead to 41-6 at the end of the third quarter.
