The next “remote” household hazardous waste collections in Washington County are planned for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15, in Forest Lake. The collections will be at 19955 Forest Road N., and participants should enter at Headwaters Parkway.
Two consecutive collections are planned for the northern portion of the county to better serve residents, and it is hoped the consecutive remote collections will offer residents convenient service, flexibility, and shorter waits.
In addition to these remote-site collections, the Washington County Environmental Center, 4039 Cottage Grove Drive, Woodbury, provides residents with a free disposal option for household hazardous waste, electronics, and recyclables all year round. It is open Tuesday noon to 7 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center also has a Reuse Room, where residents may browse the shelves and take home previously-owned products such as paint, stain, automotive products, household cleaners, and other products. All products brought into the Environmental Center are inspected to determine if they are usable.
