Ecumen Parmly LifePointes invites seniors to the annual Vital Aging Expo on Thursday, Sept. 13. This free event is held at the Vitalize Wellness Centre, 28210 Old Towne Rd. in Chisago City, from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Designed for participants 50 and older, the expo will introduce massage therapy, Tai Chi and various interactive fitness demonstrations.
Blood pressure, glucose, and Body Mass Index (BMI) testing and results will be offered free of charge.
Local area professionals will be on hand to provide information on finance, care giving, nutrition, and technology support.
Artist Wendy Schreiber will have an exhibit of pastel paintings that tell of pain, loss, and recovery.
Participants can celebrate the five-year anniversary of the wellness center with complimentary hors d’oeuvre provided by local businesses, including Eichten’s and Northwoods Roasterie. All attendees can enter the drawing for a chance to win a six-month membership to the Vitalize! Centre.
At 6:30 p.m. keynote speaker Barbara Hoese, President of The Inventure Group, will present “Finding your purpose: the key for people who want to stay engaged in life and make a difference.” Ms. Hoese will talk about moving through transitions and discovering purpose no matter what phase of life.
Hoese will be available before and after the presentation to meet and answer questions.
