Washington County will host a household hazardous waste collection event this Saturday, Sept. 15, in Forest Lake.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can bring hazardous waste to the Washington County Headwaters Service Center at 19955 Forest Road N. Enter at Headwaters Parkway.
Hazardous waste will not be accepted from businesses.
On Friday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Washington County will host a document shredding event at the Washington County Environmental Center, 4039 Cottage Grove Dr. in Woodbury.
Personal and confidential papers will be shredded on-site. Staples and paper clips need not be removed.
CDs, floppy disks and other media will be accepted for off-site destruction.

On Sept. 29 a hazardous waste collection day for residents will be in Hugo at the public works building, 6900 137th Ave. N.
The Washington County Environmental Center at 4039 Cottage Grove Dr. in Woodbury is available year-round.
Residents can bring household hazardous waste, electronics, and recyclables at no charge.
It is open Tuesdays from noon to 7 p.m., plus Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the Reuse Room, residents can browse the shelves and take home previously-owned products such as paint, stain, automotive products, household cleaners, and other products.
All products brought to the Environmental Center are inspected to determine if they are usable.
