Former Crookston City Administrator Aaron Parrish, who now holds the same title in Forest Lake, was recently recognized by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) with the Bob Filson Award for Distinguished Rural Leadership, given to those who display sound judgment in rural policy matters and make significant contributions to the CGMC. In Crookston, he oversaw numerous flood mitigation projects, including the relocation of the city’s ice arena. He also served on the CGMC Board of Directors.
“Though Aaron still does great work for city government, he left quite a mark on the CGMC while he was in Crookston,” said CGMC President Alan Oberloh, mayor of Worthington. “He was a strong advocate for the CGMC Labor and Employee Relations Program and was an extremely helpful and active member of our organization.”
