The Forest Lake swimming and diving team took on East Ridge at home last Thursdsay, losing the meet 95-83. The Raptors opted to swim the last three events as exhibition.

Highlights for the divers included a one-two punch for Rangers senior Jessica Dhaene and junior Maddi Gemuenden in the girls 1-meter dive, followed by a fourth-place finish by junior Katie Dison.

“The girls are progressing nicely,” Forest Lake diving coach Deb Welch said. “They are trying out new dives at these conference meets so the scores are on the low side.”

Welch said the girls are excited for their first 11-team meet coming up at St. Catherine’s University, which will show them what they need to fix by the section meet.

Sophomore Rachel Chatwin took second for the Forest Lake swimmers in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57:01. Junior Karlee Lawrence brought another four points to the Rangers when she placed second in the 500 freestyle, followed by teammate, sophomore Caitlyn Liljedahl.

Before East Ridge began its exhibition swims, the Rangers 200-relay medley team of Chatwin, sophomore Josephine Hudoba, ninth-graders Andrea Dunrud and Emma Dolby took third with a time of 1:52.

The Rangers face Cretin-Derham Hall Thursday, Sept. 27, in a home meet at 6 p.m., before hosting the Ranger Invite on Saturday, which begins at noon at St. Catherine’s.
