What happens when a group of friends enter their creations for judging in Open Class at a local county fair?
Find out when the Lakes Area Chorus presents “Lucky Day,” a county fair parody.
The show will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Immanuel Church, 9511 West Broadway Avenue in Columbus.
Mixed in with the story is a selection of songs in close four-part close harmony.
The 90-minute show will feature award-winning quartets, including the Re-Chords and S.A.S.S., 2010 Champions from Region 6 of Sweet Adelines International.
The show is part of an annual fund-raising effort for the chorus, which performs for area civic groups, assisted living centers and care facilities. Lakes Area Chorus received a Second Place Trophy for Community Service Groups in the 2012 St. Francis Pioneer Days Parade.
Rehearsals are Monday nights at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Church and are open to women of all ages who like to sing.
Tickets are available in advance and at the door for $10 per adult, $5 per child age 12 and under, and $8 per person for groups of ten or more, if reserved in advance.
