Wyoming Elementary kindergarten students have created a work of art that will be a permanent addition to the walls of their school.

Working with Artist in Residence Lisa Arnold, kindergartners created a mosaic mural which reads WYOMING ELEMENTARY amidst colorful tiles.

The mural was unveiled at a special ceremony on Monday, Oct. 1. After a presentation in the media center, the families moved to the hallway to see the children’s artwork.

The project was made possible by a matching grant from the East Central Regional Library Arts Council Legacy Fund.

“Those kids worked so hard and had so much fun,” said parent Heidi Schauer. “As a volunteer I could not get over the enthusiasm Lisa ignited in them. She probably changed the way many of them view art, and that could affect them for the rest of their lives.”
