St. Peter’s families raise funds for school

St. Peter’s Catholic School was part of the state-wide Minnesota Marathon for Nonpublic Education on Saturday, Oct. 6. Walkers, runners, and bikers covered the four-mile course around the St. Peter’s School neighborhood with the goal of raising $50,000. Father DeGrood and Father Little helped out by participating in the “Favorite Father Fundraiser.” Pledges are received in either name. It’s a tight competition, with the associate pastor in the lead at press time. Above, Lexi and Alli Schauls’ parents asked their daughters to come up with a creative way to raise money for St. Peter’s school without going door to door asking for money. After deciding on a cookie stand, they helped their mom bake homemade chocolate chip cookies and helped their dad make signs. The girls set up at the corner of Bay Drive and 14th Avenue on Friday, Oct. 5. (Photo submitted)
