New TRI-M chapter at high school
The music department at Forest Lake Area High School has established a music honor society called TRI-M (Modern Music Masters).
Its purpose is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship and stimulate a desire to render service.
The group also promotes leadership among secondary music students.
To take part, students must fit the criteria of music participation, academic achievement and character strength.
This year the chapter will focus on giving back through community service and educational events. The students have plans for fundraising, music caroling, and an instrument informational day for elementary students.
Forest Lake’s TRI-M chapter is the third of its kind in the state.
