Due to the recent rains and cooler temperatures the fire danger is now low across the entire state of Minnesota. As a result, the Fire Chiefs of Washington County are lifting the burning ban that has been in place since Oct. 5. The cancellation of the ban is effective beginning 5 p.m. today, October 26.
Camp or recreational fires or open burn will be permitted within Washington County in compliance with the current DNR fire restrictions in place for Washington County. Currently, the DNR has no restrictions for Washington, Anoka or Chisago counties, though permits are required.
