Stephen Leo Parenteau, 65, of Stark and formerly of Forest Lake, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul.
Born Feb. 20, 1947, he was the son of Jerome and Burnadette Marier Parenteau and the fifth of eight children. As a child, he moved with his family to a farm in rural Hugo. He attended Forest Lake High School and worked a variety of jobs. He retired from his position as custodian of the Forest Lake School District in 2010 after more than 25 years of service.
Surviving is a daughter, Kristen (Alex) Ackermann of Silverton, Ore.; seven siblings, Gerald (Darlene) Parenteau of Apache Junction, Ariz., James (Bonnie) Parenteau of Hugo, Paul (Diane) Parenteau Sr. of Forest Lake, Thomas (Janet) Parenteau of Portland, Ore., Mary Parenteau of Las Vegas, Nev., Charles Parenteau of New Richmond, Wis., Daniel Parenteau of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Forest Lake American Legion, 355 W. Broadway Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.
