Edmund G. Grund

Edmund G. Grund, 85, West St. Paul, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolly; children, Tom (Jim), Becky, Barbara (Tom), Steve (Nancy), John (Carol); grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Emily, Kelly, Emma, Joseph, and Peter.

Edmund served his country in the U.S. Navy, was a 1950 graduate of UMD, taught in Deer River, moved to Forest Lake where he was a teacher and furthered a career as a Horace Mann Insurance Agent until retirement. He retired to their lake home in Eveleth.

In November of 1990 Edmund received a heart transplant which allowed him to spend an additional 22 years with his family.

A memorial service was Saturday, Nov. 17, at Kandt & Tetrick Funeral Home, South St. Paul. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to Camp Odayin or Abbott-Northwestern Heart Transplant Patient Assistance Fund.
