A father and daughter share a special moment at last year’s ball.

The 10th annual Father-Daughter Ball at Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Lake will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Every year the Father-Daughter Ball provides a memorable evening for fathers, father-figures and daughters of all ages.

“It’s tough to beat the poignancy of a father cuddling his toddler,” said Ann Sargeant, one of the organizers, “or the smile on the face of an adult daughter sharing memories with the man who gave her life.”

This year Mardi Gras is the theme. King Rex will preside over the festivities. The ball room will feature decorations in purple, green and gold, representing justice, faith, and power. Expect masks, feathers and beads.

Dine on jambalaya, a Louisiana favorite melding Cajun, Creole, and African cuisines. There will be other choices for less adventurous palates.

For dance music, “Night Magic” is back by popular demand and will play a wide range of selections.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available from the church office at 651-464-3323. For dads and daughters age 9 and older, tickets are $12 each. Tickets for daughters age 8 and younger are $8 each.

Fathers, grandfathers, and any other men important in the life of a girl are welcome.
