Thefts from cars reported in Columbus

During the past two weeks the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office has seen a significant increase in thefts from vehicles in Columbus. These crimes are happening during overnight hours and primarily on weekend nights. Unlocked vehicles are being targeted. Items that have been stolen include loose change, a laptop, wallets, cigarettes, and even shoes and jumper cables.

Sheriff James Stuart advises residents to lock vehicles and remove anything of value. Report suspicious vehicles or people in your neighborhood by calling 911 immediately.
