Sen. Housley on stadium board

Sen. Karin Housley (R-St. Mary’s Point) has been appointed to the newly-created Legislative Commission on Minnesota Sports Facilities. The 12-member commission, which will oversee the construction of the new Vikings stadium, was established as a part of the legislative stadium agreement reached at the Capitol last year. According to Minnesota Statutes, the commission reviews “the overall work and role” of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which manages the state’s stadium operations, and provides “financial oversight of the authority.”

Housley was elected in November to the newly reconfigured Senate District 39, which includes parts of Washington and Chisago counties.
