Faith to offer Lenten journey

The Faith Lutheran Church Lenten series will examine stations of the cross in a journey with Jesus.

“On His way to the cross, Jesus experienced many kinds of suffering, including betrayal, denial, false accusation, abuse and death,” said Bill Munson, Faith’s Music Director. “We also experience these kinds of suffering in our walk in life.”

The first half of the service will be in the sanctuary, with songs, scripture readings, and a brief message.

For the second half, small groups will form in the fellowship hall. Discussion will be based on such questions as “Why did Jesus need to suffer so much physical pain, humiliation, and despair?” “How do you think Jesus felt when he was betrayed by a close friend?”  “Have you ever felt like God would deny you because you’ve blown it somehow in life?”

Lenten meals will be served at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  All are welcome to come for fellowship, nourishment, worship, and discussion.

The worship services are at 1 and 7 p.m. each Wednesday of Lent, beginning on Feb. 20.
