Gladys Gorton

VIT_GortonGladys “Jean” Gorton, beloved wife, mother, granny, dear friend, age 68, died while surrounded by her family following a brief illness on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.

Jean retired after 15 years as a continuing care coordinator at Hazelden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Ploncinsky; brother-in-law, Barney Flanaghan.

She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Gary; children, Chris (Monica), Mark; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Breanna, Hannah, Natalie, Tanis; siblings, Nancy (Joe) Minahan, Midge Flanaghan, Elsie (Jack) Sandquist, Fran (Les) Steiner, John Ploncinsky; other family and friends.

Jean was a very loving and caring woman, who adored her family and friends. In her life she has always cared for and supported others through her many callings. We take comfort in honoring her wishes to continue to serve others in her passing through organ donations.

Catholic Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Feb. 18, at the Church of Saint Peter, Forest Lake. A prayer service was Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home. Future interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake. Memorials will be directed to Parkinson’s disease research.
