    Dear Joe Sahlin family,
I just got back from a winter vacation and learned of Joe’s passing. I’m so sorry for your loss and want to tell you that I feel a loss too….. of the best skating partner and teacher that I had. Joe was the constant calming influence to all at Skateland for over 15 years. He was a skating perfectionist and I learned so much from him. My parents, Bert and Elsie Vogel, considered him one of their best friends and always knew that if Joe was on the skating floor, everything was going to be okay. He was the best skater around and I still picture myself skating with him when I hear The Blue Danube waltz or a oood march. I miss those times; but, will treasure the memories!
