The Forest Lake boys’ basketball team defeated second-seed Duluth East during the Section 7AAAA semifinals on Monday night.
The Rangers pulled away early in the game for a 35-19 lead at halftime, and stayed ahead to win 62-37.
Senior Noah Davis led Forest Lake in scoring with 19 points, while junior Matt Degendorfer earned 17 points. Senior Brock Baumgartner recorded eight points while sophomore Connor Knutson and senior Anthony Tyler contributed seven and five, respectively.
The Rangers will face the No. 4-seed Andover, who upset the top seed, St. Francis, 76-58, in the semifinals on Monday evening.
The section championship will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 7 p.m. at North Branch High School.
