Library debuts magazine service

Washington County Library is going digital, with 128 popular magazine titles made available at no cost. The latest editions of magazines such as Consumer Reports, Popular Mechanics, Good Housekeeping and Seventeen will be made available as they are released for reading on both Mac and PC computers, as well as on Android, Apple, Blackberry, and Kindle Fire tablets. Users need a library card registered with Washington County Library.

This new digital magazine service – already in use by several other Twin Cities public libraries – is called Zinio. To begin using the service at Washington County Library, users will need to set up two accounts, one a library account and one a Zinio account. Find instructions on the Library’s “Read” page on the Washington County website, www.co.washington.mn.us.

Users will see the entire magazine in a digital format. The digital magazines may be checked out for as long as the user wants. There are no due dates. Washington County library cardholders are encouraged to call branch libraries with questions about the service. Find library locations and telephone numbers on the library’s web pages at www.co.washington.mn.us/library.
