Pies to fly at Legion Friday night

The American Legion is having its sixth-annual fish fry fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. this Friday, March 15. The popular event generates money for the Legion’s Fourth of July celebration. Besides the dinner, the evening is highlighted by a pie throwing featuring local figures of note. The pie throwing, as well as a live auction, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Good-natured participants will include State Rep. Bob Dettmer, Mayor Chris Johnson, Police Chief Rick Peterson, Councilwoman Susan Young, Councilman Ben Winnick, City Administrator Aaron Parrish, Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce President Colleen Eddy, Lion Terri Steenblock, and Forest Lake Fire Department inspector Bruce Wightman.

The Legion post will also raffle off a Fouth of July fun pack which includes: four seats in front of the Legion for the parade, parking, two carnival wrist bands, a roll of quarters for bingo and a $25 gift certificate for the Legion.
