Art works by more than 100 students graced the halls of Century Junior High on Saturday, March 16.

At the Home & Business Show, hosted by the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the fourth annual Forest Lake Area Schools art show was sponsored by Scandia Heating and Air Conditioning.

Close to 120 student works of art were submitted to the judged competition. Judging the show were Wyoming Mayor Eric Peterson, Forest Lake Mayor Chris Johnson and Former Forest Lake Mayor Stev Stegner.

The judges worked together to agree on one “Best in Show” for four categories: elementary, junior high, high school, and Student Transition Educational Program (STEP).

Throughout the day, people attending the show had the opportunity to vote for their favorite art piece. The “Peoples Choice Award” went to Kallie Kellor for her portrait of Johnny Depp. Along with a ribbon, Kallie received a $50 gift card courtesy of Birchwood Health Care.

Laura Anton, Art department chair and ALC art teacher, said “This was a great opportunity to support the artistic endeavors and talents of our students.”
