Third-grade Brownie Girl Scout Troop 54258, 13 girls from Scandia Elementary School, completed their food drive to benefit the Forest Lake Family Pathways food pantry.

On Tuesday, March 26, the girls delivered 172 pounds of food plus $20 in cash.

The food items were collected at school beginning March 18, with a food collection box and table set up at the school’s front lobby.

The final push came during the Scandia Elementary Carnival on Saturday, March 23.

The food drive was the troop’s culminating “Take Action” community service project. Now that it’s complete, the Brownies will have earned their Brownie Quest Award and be ready to move onto the next level, Junior Girl Scout.

In March, Food Share Month, all food donations given to food shelves are matched by corporate sponsors.

Thank You, Mary Bailey and the Forest Lake Times Newspaper – for including this article and photo of my Girl Scout Brownie Troop #54258 Food Drive service project. The girls worked so hard to sponsor this food drive and it was very successful ! — Seeing their Good Works in the newspaper makes these young Girl Scouts feel so good about themselves ! We appreciate this coverage very much.
    Peace to you,
    Melanie
