County lauded for transparency

Anoka County has been awarded for having one of the most transparent government websites in the nation. The Sunshine Review gave a score of A+ on its annual transparency checklist. Anoka County was the only county in the state to receive the perfect grade, and the website was among 247 of more than 7,000 to earn a Sunny Award.

The Sunshine Review uses a 10-point transparency checklist to evaluate the content of every state and local government website. Anoka County was lauded for posting a wide range of content, including a detailed breakdown of the annual budget, audit reports, contact information for elected officials, meeting agendas and minutes, lobbying expenditures, and information about property taxes, permits and licenses, contract bids, and other public records.
