Can you say “tack så mycket?”
Gammelgården Museum can help with that.
Swedish classes are offered in the spring and fall.
This year three levels will be taught: beginning, progressive, and intermediate.
All three classes will be held on Monday evenings in the Välkommen Hus, upstairs in the Passage Room.
Beginning Swedish is for those who have no idea what the “å” sounds like, but would like to greet the hundreds of Swedish visitors who come to the St. Croix Valley each year. This class will meet at 7:30 p.m.
New for 2013, Intermediate Swedish is for those who have taken the beginning class, have a general knowledge of pronunciation, and would like to work toward conversational Swedish. This class will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Progressing Swedish is for those who can converse in basic Swedish but would like to improve, practice and perfect their Swedish. This class will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Signe Fluegel-Svensson, who has taught the Swedish language classes at Gammelgården Museum for five years, returns as the instructor.
She has a master’s degree in education and has been actively involved in the American Swedish Institute and Concordia Language Villages.
The spring session runs Mondays from April 15 to May 20 and costs $50.
The fall session, also on Mondays, goes from September 16 to November 11 and costs $80.
