Mr. Buys was a cool dad …always laughing and full of energy and life.
When I would stay over night at Joel’s house we would roast hot dogs over their neat fireplace. After dinner Mr. Buys would read from the Bible a few versus. And I thought only our family did that. Well I am glad our families’ ate together and prayed together .Well Jack I am saying a few versus for you and your family..God has blessed those who got to know you.
    With Love and Aloha

My deepest sympathy to your family. It was by chance I happened on this notice today but I am grateful for this opportunity to say a prayer for his passing. I, like so many others, was a student of Jack’s but quickly learned I could turn to him for advice on many issues. His advice and life lessons have stayed with me and served me well over the years. We occasionally stayed in touch over the last 30+ years and I was always overjoyed to see him at church and around town. He will be missed by many and I hope you, his family and loved ones, will find comfort from his passing by sharing cherished memories and celebrating a wonderful life and a truly wonderful man.
    God bless,
    Julie Trombley

We’re so sorry to hear of the loss of your father, Joel. He was a wonderful person and will be missed. He was one of my teachers and happened to be a favorite of mine. We just found out this afternoon that he had passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God bless you all.

Take care of you and yours,

    Wendy and Adam

Mr. Buys was my favorite teacher. I learned so much more than how to type and take shorthand in his classes — leadership, management, and Business English. I used my shorthand every day in my working life and still use it now as the secretary for my Church Council and as Board Secretary for our Townhome Association. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. He was the best!
