The Forest Lake Police Department invites the community to a first-time event set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. The department will host an open house as part of National Police Week, celebrated May 12-18. Residents can tour the police station at 210 N. Lake St. and check out police vehicles. Members of the department will discuss their duties as patrol officers, SWAT members, investigators and narcotics task force members. The FLPD K9 unit will put on demonstrations.
“Police departments around the metro area have found open houses to be a successful way to get the community engaged and more familiar with units and responsibilities within a department,” FLPD Detective Ashley LaValle said. “We are excited to show the residents the units and duties that our department is involved with and responsible for.”
