The Forest Lake Area Historical Society in conjunction with Washington County Historical Society and Forest Lake Area Schools will proudly bring back the Forest Lake museum this summer. The museum, located downtown next to TradeWins Sports, will be open from May 31-July 27.

This year’s school theme will have a timeline of 1850-1980s. Organizers seek schools, groups and individuals to showcase their items to the public. Historical items pertaining to the theme of Forest Lake area schools can have any theme: academics, sports, clubs, buildings, events, individuals, etc.

Volunteers are also needed to donate time setting up displays, writing story boards and staffing the museum. The society is also looking for display tables, cases, and material/monetary donations. Drop-off dates for items will be May 18 and 19 from noon-5 p.m. at the museum, 79 N. Lake St. Otherwise, call 651-464-6132 or email forestlakehistory@midco.net to arrange a drop-off date.

The next Forest Lake Area Historical Society board meeting will be at 4 p.m. on May 21 at the museum.
