Oklahoma disaster responders seek donations

A local group organized by Kelly Appel of Lake Area Bank is seeking donations before it leaves Friday, May 24, to assist in the relief efforts in Moore, Okla., following Tuesday’s devastating tornado.

The group will transport essential items and provide hands-on assistance as needed through the weekend. The following items can be dropped off at the bank, 91 Lake St. S. in Forest Lake, through Friday afternoon: garbage bags, work gloves, Tylenol, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, towels, first aid kits, flashlights, batteries, sunscreen, boxed or individual snacks, diapers, wipes, baby formula, pet food, plastic totes, disposable cameras for insurance purposes, new undergarments. The group will also accept checks made out to the American Red Cross.
