Minnesota State Patrol troopers June 26 arrested a Wyoming man on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and hit and run relating to a June 17 crash in Pine County that took the life of a Wyoming man.

Derek Anthony Sanders, 31, is being held at the Pine County Sheriff’s Office after being taken into custody last Wednesday at the residence of his parents in Wyoming.

Trevor Langlois, a 24-year-old Army veteran, died from injuries suffered in the crash after being transported to Essentia Health in Sandstone.

He was struck by a vehicle on a southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 35 in Hinckley. Langlois had pulled his truck over and was outside of the vehicle at the time of the crash. The incident was reported at 10:50 p.m.

The State Patrol had asked for the public’s help in locating a 2010 or newer Ford F150 with damage to the right side of its front end and missing its right-side mirror.

The Bloomington Police Department last Monday received a tip that led to the recovery of a vehicle registered to Sanders that matched the description. The truck was impounded as evidence.
