Following a delayed start due to a 13-inning showdown between Eastview and Chester Bird, the Forest Lake Legion baseball team took its first-round game against Edina into extra innings as well.

Post 225 defeated the host team, 1-0, on Friday afternoon in a defensive battle behind pitcher Phil Sauer, who recorded eight strikeouts in a complete 10-inning performance.

Brett Gravelle hit the game-winning single to center field in the bottom of the 10th inning, scoring Joe Vacinek from third base for the win.

Forest Lake moved on to play Eastview Friday evening and jumped to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. Post 225 maintained the lead with starting pitcher Noah Brown at the helm, winning 9-1 and advancing to the third round of the state tournament.

Forest Lake plays Rochester tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Braemar Field in Edina.
