Hay Lake Day set for Saturday

Tours, music, rummage sale among festivities

The community is invited to the Hay Lake Day celebration and rummage sale on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and feature live music by the Scandia Community Band, demonstrations from traditional craft vendors, free tours of the Hay Lake School Museum and Johannes Erickson Log Home and a rummage sale. Admission is free.

Interested in helping a good cause and getting rid of some unwanted items? Donations for the Hay Lake Day rummage sale will be accepted through Friday. All types of items are sought. Bring donations to the Warden’s House in Stillwater from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, to Hay Lake School from noon to 4 p.m. Friday or call 651-433-4014 to arrange a pickup.

The Hay Lake School Museum and the Johannes Erickson Log Home sites are located on the corner of County Road 3 and Old Marine Trail N., about a mile south of Scandia. Both are on the National Register of Historic Places.
