“Run With Ranger,” a first-time event, will take place this Saturday, Aug. 10. The family 5K run/walk is a fundraiser for the Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau. Forest Lake Police Department officer Nicholas Kent came up with idea, and the event will feature the department’s canine, Ranger.
The run/walk starts at 9 a.m. at the City Hall/police station parking lot. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Ranger, who will also stroll the course. Children under 12 can take part for free if accompanied by an adult. Registration for adults is $25. On-site registration starts at 8 p.m. A form is also available at flpd.com.
