Martell receives doctor of chiropractic degree

Stephanie Martell has earned a doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri.

She plans to practice at Scandia Chiropractic alongside her father, Dr. Leland Kendrick, and her sister, Dr. Jennifer Tonneson. Kendrick is also a Logan alumnus.

At Logan College Martell completed 10 trimesters, the equivalent of five two-semester academic years, of chiropractic coursework, studying basic and clinical (diagnostic) sciences, chiropractic science, research and patient care.

She also earned a bachelor of science degree in life sciences.

While in clinical training, Martell was one of eight students accepted into the Biofreeze Sports and Rehabilitation Center, where she treated athletes from the University of Missouri.

She was also selected to treat patients at a private clinic in nearby St. Peters.

Martell completed her undergraduate studies at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., earning a bachelor’s degree in natural science with emphasis in nutrition and with a minor in sports medicine.

At St. Benedict she was the captain of the women’s ice hockey team and played all four years.

Martell is married and has a daughter.
