Saint Peter’s Catholic School welcomes new principal

Dan Hurley is the new principal of Saint Peter’s Catholic School, a private elementary school and preschool in Forest Lake.

Hurley and his family live in Woodbury, where they are members of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church and School. He brings a background in Catholic education, having attended elementary school at Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and secondary school at Hill-Murray, both in Maplewood.

A licensed K-12 principal, Hurley has a master of science degree in counseling and an educational specialist degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment. He has worked as a teacher and guidance counselor, and most recently was principal with Intermediate School District 917. This will be his tenth year working as a school principal. He is currently completing a doctorate in educational leadership.

“I am honored to be part of Saint Peter’s Catholic School,” Hurley said. “As I had the honor of attending Catholic education, I realize how blessed I am to have the opportunity to serve this community.”

In addition to the new principal, this year St. Peter’s introduced an enhanced science, technology, engineering and mathematics curriculum and has several new staff members.
