Roseville woman arrested in connection to local bank robberies

A 23-year-old Roseville woman is being held in connection to a string of bank robberies that includes heists in Forest Lake and Stacy.

The FBI and Roseville Police Department arrested Ranya Hamad Al-Huthaili without incident around 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Rosedale Center mall in Roseville. She had been under surveillance, said FBI spokesman Kyle Loven.

Al-Huthaili is suspected to have robbed Forest Lake’s main TCF Bank office at 1186 W. Broadway Ave. on Sept. 1 and the Stacy branch of First State Bank of Wyoming on Aug. 22. She is also suspected in similar robberies at Klein Bank in Cologne on Aug. 15, First State Bank and Trust in Hudson, Wis. on Sept. 5, and Dairy State Bank in Menomonie, Wis. on Sept. 9.

The robber in all five cases presented a note that threatened the possession of a weapon. No sign of a weapon was present in any of the cases. Surveillance photos indicate the same person is responsible for each robbery, Loven said.

Officials are working through jurisdictional issues that stem from the robberies occurring in two states, Loven said. He expects Al-Huthaili to be charged in federal court.
