Carr named vice president of Community Helping Hand

The board of directors of Community Helping Hand has named Roger Carr as vice president. He will fill the seat left vacant after the unexpected passing of Tom Lynch this past May.

Carr has been involved with Community Helping Hand for nine years, starting as food shelf coordinator. He joined the board as secretary in 2010.

“I am proud of the hard work that has made Community Helping Hand such a remarkable asset to the area for the past 33 years,” Carr said, “and I look forward to helping make it even better.”

Community Helping Hand is a non-profit thrift store which also provides financial assistance and a food shelf to residents of the Forest Lake School District.  It is located at 408 15th Street SW behind Target.

The other board members are Jan Sandberg, Ted Henrichs, Barb Williams, Bonnie Hau, Dave Morley, Kari Hickey, Gail Rein and Al Kloos.
