Faith Lutheran’s Peterson to give final sermon Sunday

Faith Lutheran Church Pastor Phil Peterson will give his final sermon on Sunday.

The longtime leader of the congregation on North Shore Drive will step away from the pulpit and into retirement at the end of the month.

A reception and potluck dinner will be held following the 10:30 a.m. praise service to celebrate and honor his 28 years of service in ministry at the ELCA church.

The 9:30 traditional service with feature two of Peterson’s favorite hymns to be sung by the 40-voice Faith Choir: “Commited” and “Wondrous Love.”

The public is invited to the services. Cake will be served in celebration between services.

    Thank you for all of your years of service to Faith and to my family. You were of great comfort and wisdom when dealing with the deaths of my Grandmother, Mother and Father. I wished you were at the helm when I lived in Forest Lake! Have a beautiful and blessed retirement!
