Dog Gone Reading
Thursday, Oct. 17, 4 to 6 p.m.

Children in kindergarten to 7th grade read aloud to a specially trained dog and its owner. Sign up for a 15-minute slot at the children’s desk or call 651-275-7300.

Make a bookmark using Washi Japanese masking tape in many colors and designs. Free; no registration required.

Social Networking on Facebook for Ages 50+

Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 to 11 a.m.

Learn to use Facebook to stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues. Free beginner’s class for adults, 50 years or older. Participants should have basic computer skills. Bring your own portable computing device, with cords. Registration required.

All-staff training

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, the library will be closed in the morning for staff training. Doors will open at 1 p.m.

Skateboard Art with Mark Rivard

Saturday, October 12, 2 to 4 p.m.

Teens create their own artwork on a wooden skateboard deck using Sharpie markers. Make a sketch on a template and transfer the design to the skateboard deck. Take home finished work and Sharpies. The Great Big Minnesota Variety Show
