Injuries, illness cause trouble for boys cross-country

The Forest Lake boys cross-country team continues to battle illness and injury this season but continues to hit the course.

The Rangers traveled to the Burnsville Invite on Friday, Sept. 20, taking fourth of seven teams and placing two runners in the top 15.

Junior Leo Hipp led his squad in 10th place of 50 competitors with a time of 17:44.despite suffering from a chest cold, which is affecting much of the team.

Junior Chris Delgado came in close behind for 11th place in 17:45, while sophomore Tommy Babcock came in 23rd with a time of 18:19.
Sophomore Davis Long and Nathan Patterson rounded out the scoring in 35th and 38th, respectively.

Minneapolis Washburn took first at the invite, followed by Wayzata and Burnsville.

The Rangers returned to Hudson this season on Tuesday, Sept. 24, after taking second place at the invite last fall, and travel to Mounds View on Friday, Sept. 27, starting at 3:30 p.m.
