A more permanent solution on Broadway

A crew from Kassa Constuction pours concrete along Broadway Avenue last week as a final touch-up from the reconstruction of Forest Lake’s main east-west thoroughfare in recent years. When attempts to remedy failed sod between the street and sidewalk did not succeed, the city and Washington County decided on a more permanent solution. Workers removed failed sod, installed an aggregate base, then poured colored concrete that matches existing maintenance strips along Broadway. The city and county will split the bill evenly for the $99,720 job. (Photo by Kat Ladwig)
