The Forest Lake boys cross-country team racked up two third-place finishes over the past week at Hudson and Mounds View.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, the Rangers took third of 10 teams at the Hudson Invite, where they were led by junior Leo Hipp. The captain took 11th place of 69 racers with a time of 18:05, followed by junior Quinn Duffy in 13th place with a time of 18:13.
Sophomore Tommy Babcock ran the 5K in 18:28, good for 20th, while juniors Chris Delgado (18:43) and John Reiling (19:40) rounded out the scoring in 23rd and 43rd, respectively.
Minneapolis Washburn and Hudson took first and second at last Tuesday’s invite.
The Rangers then traveled to Mounds View on Friday, Sept. 27, where they finished with 97 points, behind Wayzata (17) and Bismarck (45). The Mustangs hosted 20 teams.
Hipp again led his squad in eighth place out of 144 runners with a time of 18:10, while Duffy was the No. 2 runner for Forest Lake with a time of 18:29, good for 15th.
Junior Riley Schilling took 19th place in 18:42, followed by Delgado in 19:01 for a 26th-place finish. Junior Taylor Olson sealed the scoring in 29th place with a time of 19:13.
Next, Forest Lake travels to Blaine on Thursday, Oct. 3, for a 3:45 p.m. start.
