William Bill Longley, 89, Forest Lake, died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 26.
He was a career research biologist for the Minnestota DNR, master birder and bird-caller extraordinaire and passionate wildlife expert.
A private family service was held.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Nance) of St. Paul, Craig (Kathy) of Coon Rapids, Ted of Forest Lake; grandchildren, Anna, Zachary, Caitlin, Hannah, Adam, Alyssa; great-grandsons, Lucas, Brycen, Oscar, Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dot (Geddes); son, Alan; granddaughter, Nora; brothers, Henry and Edwin; sister, Alice (Earl) Kiel.
