You may remember him from the movies “Police Academy” and “Spaceballs.” Master of vocal gymnastics Michael Winslow was also the voice of the evil character Stripe in the movie “Gremlins” and did voice-overs for Disney and Universal Studios in “Back to the Future” and “Terminator.” On TV, you may have heard him on “Robot Chicken,” “Family Guy,” and Geico commercials.
Winslow will appear in a Laugh Your Ace Off comedy show at Running Aces Harness Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Using just his voice, Winslow imitates over 1,000 sound effects. He can recreate the frenzy of Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar, or call up the roar of a jet plane.
He travels the country giving live performances at comedy clubs and theaters and was most recently seen on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” jamming with Fallon’s house band, The Roots.
Also featured in the Running Aces show will be comedian Michael Callahan, creator and owner of 2nd Story Comedy in St. Peter. Mining experiences from his life as a husband and father of two daughters, Callahan delivers up-tempo comedy with unpredictable punch lines.
Host for the evening will be Rox Tarrant, a Twin Cities comedian and comedy producer. Tarrant has appeared with Diane Ford at the Atlantis Hotel & Casino in the Bahamas and with her mentor, comedian Louie Anderson.
Tickets are $20 plus fees and can be purchased at www.runningacesharness.com. Parties of eight or more should call 651-925-4600.
